Clamp-on flowmeters for electricity production

Katronic flowmeters are an excellent choice for major energy suppliers. Whether electricity is generated from nuclear fission, burning fuels or from water power, the ability for our flowmeters to measure non-intrusively is invaluable. The pipes and fluids used in the different generation processes vary in size and type, but a common issue is that, whether flow measurement is required on a temporary or permanent basis, the process cannot be stopped.

The Katronic flowmeters offer a series of advantages to our customers in the power generation sector.

Clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeters are perfect for measuring non-conductive liquids used in power plants that cannot be measured with electromagnetic devices.

Clamp-on flowmeters can be installed without needing to stop the process, perfect for all varieties of power stations.

Main water inlets to conventional and nuclear power stations can be very large diameter pipes, as can feedwater pipes on hydroelectric stations. The cost of a clamp-on flowmeter does not vary whether the pipe diameter is 30 mm (1¼''), 300 mm (11¾'') or 3,000 mm (118'') - making it a very cost-effective option.
