Let’s get active at Katronic!

Amid glorious sunshine and summery temperatures, a week of sporting activities at Katronic kicked off with the company’s participation in the Harz Company Run. This year, the event took place on 18 June 2025, marking its 11th edition. The event, held at the Wernigerode Citizens’ and Miniature Park, attracted a total of 4,257 participants from 272 different companies to this team event.

We weren’t the fastest again this year, but we certainly attracted plenty of attention and raised a few smiles along the route with our homemade Pac-Man costumes (inspired by the Pac-Man game, © Bandai Namco) on the roughly 2.5-kilometre course.

With a total time of 41:00 minutes, Karsten, Laurin, Lena and Melissa came 149th out of 267 participating teams – a solid mid-table finish, after all!

With great music, a fantastic atmosphere and delicious food, the event was a resounding success, before we set off two days later, in high spirits and with more good food, for our next sporting adventure: our company walking day through the beautiful Ilse Valley. We were able to enjoy this too in ideal conditions and pleasant weather.

The route, totalling 13.9 kilometres and including a visit to the Ilsestein, was accompanied by beautiful views, geocaches, games of Frisbee, several HWN stamp points and a group lunch at Plessenburg Castle.

An all-round successful day – and so it’s clear: the Katronic hiking day has earned its place as an annual highlight.
