Why choose the KATflow 180?
The KATflow 180 is specifically designed to enable gas flow measurements across an exceptionally wide range of applications: from high-pressure applications right through to those operating at low or atmospheric pressure. Unlike conventional clamp-on systems, the KATflow 180 delivers reliable measurements even under pressure conditions below 5 bar – a range that was previously considered technically almost impossible to achieve.
This is made possible by newly developed sensor technology, sophisticated digital signal processing (DSP), adaptive filtering techniques and optimised signal algorithms. The innovative shear and Lamb wave sensor technology allows measurements to be taken on all standard pipe materials with diameters ranging from 25 to 1,500 mm and flow velocities from 0.1 to 75 m/s. At the same time, the universal sensor design reduces the number of sensor types required, thus offering a significant advantage in terms of procurement, spare parts management and installation.
To ensure safe, long-term operation, the KATflow 180 is available in two robust explosion-proof housings: an epoxy-coated aluminium housing or a particularly robust stainless steel variant. This makes the device suitable for both protected industrial environments and Zone 1 and 2 hazardous areas. The keypad is operated safely via a magnetic stylus through the glass-protected front panel, conveniently and without opening the housing.
Thanks to additional inputs for temperature, pressure and compressibility factor (real gas factor), the KATflow 180 delivers precise, traceable measurement results even with complex gases and varying operating conditions. Extensive data analysis options provide flexible approaches to monitoring and process analysis.
The KATflow 180 combines precision with versatility. Its exceptional measurement range, state-of-the-art sensor technology and explosion-proof design make it ideal for continuous gas flow measurements.
