Katronic simplifies water well flow measurements in Indonesia
As a leading well-drilling company, SUPRA International Indonesia supports groundwater management.
As Indonesia’s first well-drilling company, SUPRA International Indonesia uses a portable KATflow 200 flow meter to reliably measure groundwater extraction from wells
SUPRA International Indonesia is the leading Indonesian well-drilling company, supporting the government, businesses and individuals in the management of groundwater throughout the region. A portable KATflow 200 ultrasonic flow meter from Katronic helps them fulfil one of their key tasks – the reliable measurement of water extraction from a well to monitor pump performance and optimise the well’s efficiency.
SUPRA International Indonesia explains that it is redefining water well drilling in Indonesia and has set itself the goal of improving the service it provides to its customers. Before purchasing the KATflow 200, they had to interrupt the process and insert a measuring orifice or V-cone flow meter into the pipe to measure the flow rate.
The director of SUPRA International Indonesia, Aryanggi Iwan, said: “We used to measure the well’s groundwater extraction using a conventional V-cone flow meter, which took more time and incurred higher costs than using the Katronic flow meter. We recently used the KATflow 200 to test the water extraction from a production well belonging to a gas company. They were really pleased with the method because they were able to use their water well as normal whilst we measured the flow.”
He continued: “The KATflow 200 was supplied in an IP 67 transport case with all the necessary accessories and was very easy to set up. We can measure the flow rate ten times faster than with the conventional method and with greater accuracy. We are the first water well drilling company in Indonesia to bring this device to market; it really enhances our service.”
