Katronic Simplifies Water Well Flow Measurements in Indonesia
As a leading well-drilling company, SUPRA International Indonesia supports groundwater management.
As Indonesia's first well-drilling company, SUPRA International Indonesia uses a portable KATflow 200 flow meter to reliably measure groundwater extraction from wells
SUPRA International Indonesia is the leading Indonesian well-drilling company, supporting the government, businesses, and individuals in managing groundwater throughout the region. A portable KATflow 200 ultrasonic flow meter from Katronic helps them fulfill one of their main tasks—reliably measuring water withdrawal from a well to monitor pump performance and optimize the well’s efficiency.
SUPRA International Indonesia explains that they are redefining water well drilling in Indonesia and have set a goal to improve their service for their customers. Before purchasing the KATflow 200, they had to interrupt the process and insert a measuring orifice or V-cone flow meter into the pipe to measure the flow rate.
Aryanggi Iwan, Director of SUPRA International Indonesia, said: “We used to measure the well’s groundwater withdrawal with a conventional V-cone flow meter, which took more time and incurred higher costs than using the Katronic flow meter. Recently, we used the KATflow 200 to test the water withdrawal from a production well belonging to a gas company. They were very satisfied with the method because they were able to use their water well normally while we measured the flow.”
He continued: “The KATflow 200 was delivered in an IP 67 carrying case with all the necessary accessories and was very easy to set up. We can measure the load ten times faster than with the conventional method and with greater accuracy. We are the first water well drilling company in Indonesia to introduce this device to the market; it really enhances our service.”
