Why the KATflow 170?

The KATflow 170 is an extremely robust and durable flow meter. As part of a fully Ex-certified system, it demonstrates that complex technical requirements can be met with simple, reliable solutions. 

Depending on your needs, the KATflow 170 is available in two explosion-proof housing options: an epoxy-coated, copper-free aluminum housing or a particularly robust stainless steel version, in accordance with the high standards of the offshore industry. If Ex certification is not required, the aluminum housing is alternatively available with an IP68 rating, which allows for permanent submersion in water. The IP68 stainless steel sensors are potted and equipped with extremely durable cable material, which further increases the system’s resilience. 

The keypad, protected by a glass front, is conveniently operated from the outside using a magnetic stylus, ensuring maximum safety and ease of use. The KATflow 170 also offers a wide range of communication interfaces and process output options, including current, open-collector, and relay outputs, allowing the device to be flexibly adapted to a wide variety of applications. Furthermore, the KATflow 170 allows for simultaneous measurement on two pipes or precise two-path measurement on a single pipe for maximum accuracy even under challenging flow conditions. For precise data analysis and process monitoring in two-channel operation, the device offers comprehensive calculation functions: sum, difference, average, and maximum value. An Ex-certified Pt 100 sensor for temperature compensation is available as an option.
