Energy savings in hospitals thanks to heat meters
PA Energy, a London-based water and energy supplier, has chosen Katronic measurement systems to monitor energy consumption at the University Hospital in East London.
Continuous heat metering for greater energy efficiency in hospitals
Hospitals consume large amounts of gas and electricity, primarily due to their HVAC systems (heating, ventilation and air-conditioning), and therefore have a strong interest in saving energy.
Katronic’s non-invasive heat meters are easy to install and set up, with portable solutions for flow control or fixed installations for continuous monitoring of key areas. With the additional PT100 temperature sensors, heat energy and flow measurements can be carried out simultaneously.
PA Energy monitored the hot water supply within the hospital using KATflow systems with wireless data acquisition, which were connected to the hospital’s main consumption meters. The systems from PA Energy and Katronic enabled the client to quickly identify areas with high energy consumption and abnormal water usage.
