Company Run Meets Tetris
To mark its 25th anniversary, Katronic is showcasing the team spirit of its staff with some original runners’ costumes.
Katronic takes part for the seventh time
Perhaps it was the number ‘7’ (the 7th Harz Company Run) that spurred us on to peak performance this year. Certainly, the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, with its several lockdowns, played a part in preventing us from focusing on our running results this year. And so it came to pass that, in its 25th anniversary year, Katronic ‘put itself on the map’ – at least in terms of being unrivalled in its choice of streamlined running costumes. Anyone familiar with the old Tetris game who tries to mentally link this with the idea of fun costume concepts for this year’s 7th Harz Company Run will have a rough idea of what we mean.
Due to the safety measures put in place regarding Covid-19, a number of things were different at the 7th Harz Company Run 2021 compared to previous years. The start took the form of a time slot system with individual timing. This allowed every runner to set off either individually or as part of a team.
Under dry conditions and a clear blue sky on Wednesday, 8 September 2021, a total of 255 teams ran the 2.2 km course in Wernigerode’s Bürgerpark. The Katronic team took part for the seventh year running and, with a total time of 0:58:19, finished 103rd in the men’s relay category.
Alongside setting up a temporary event site with team tents, a presenter and catering, the organisers were extremely well prepared and executed the event flawlessly.
We’re already looking forward to next year!
