Company Run Meets Tetris
To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Katronic is showcasing the teamwork of its employees with creative runner costumes.
Katronic Competes for the Seventh Time
Perhaps it was the number “7” (the 7th Harz Company Run) that spurred us on to peak performance this year. Certainly, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic—with its multiple lockdowns—contributed to our inability to focus on our running results this year. And so it came to pass that, in its 25th anniversary year, Katronic “put itself on the map”—at least by being unrivaled in its choice of streamlined running costumes. Anyone familiar with the old Tetris game who tries to mentally connect that with the idea of fun costume concepts for this year’s 7th Harz Company Run will have a pretty good idea of what we mean.
Due to the safety precautions put in place regarding COVID-19, the 7th Harz Company Run in 2021 was different in several ways from previous years. The start took place as a time slot system with individual timing. This allowed each runner to start either individually or as part of a team.
Under dry conditions and a blue sky on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, a total of 255 teams ran the 2.2-km course in Wernigerode’s Bürgerpark. The Katronic team participated for the seventh consecutive year and finished in 103rd place in the men’s relay category with a total time of 0:58:19.
Along with setting up a temporary event area featuring team tents, emcees, and food service, the organizers did an excellent job of planning and executing the event.
We’re already looking forward to next year!
