Katronic at the 47th Harz Mountain Run 2025
The 47th Harz Mountain Run 2025 attracted a record-breaking field of around 4,000 participants in the unique landscape of the Harz National Park.
Our Company Team Participated for the 12th Time in the Popular Harz Running Event in Wernigerode
The 47th Harz-Gebirgslauf, one of Germany’s most scenic running events, took place on the second weekend of October 2025. It attracts athletes to the picturesque landscapes of Harz National Park each year. A total of 3,520 people registered by the official deadline, which is the highest number since the anniversary run eight years ago, making this the biggest event yet. Additionally, on-site registrations brought the total number of athletes to around 4,000.
The first Harz-Gebirgslauf took place on 14 October 1978. Due to its proximity to the former East-West German border at the time, only 300 participants were permitted to take part, despite 1,200 applications having been submitted. Today, the event is a firm fixture in the calendars of many running and hiking enthusiasts. Katronic has maintained this tradition for many years and participated this time with seven runners from among its employees and friends. The Katronic-disciplines ranged from the 11 km walking route to the more challenging 25 km course.
Participants were rewarded with a stunning autumn display as they walked through colourful forests and gentle hills, accompanied by fresh, crisp air – a true nature experience! At the finish line, all runners and hikers received a medal to commemorate completing the course and sharing the knowledge. For Katronic, the 47th Harz-Gebirgslauf was more than just a sporting event – it symbolised team spirit, commitment and the joy of being in nature.
Excited for next year’s event, the team hopes to encourage even more colleagues to take part in this memorable experience.
