Katronic at the 47th Harz Mountain Run 2025
The 47th Harz Mountain Run 2025 attracted a record-breaking field of around 4,000 participants in the unique landscape of the Harz National Park.
For the 12th time, our company team took part in the popular nature run event in Wernigerode
On the second weekend of October 2025, the 47th Harz Mountain Run took place – one of Germany’s most beautiful nature runs. Every year, this event attracts many athletes to the picturesque landscape of the Harz National Park: With a total of 3,520 entries by the official closing date – the highest number since the anniversary race eight years ago – the field of participants was on course to set a new record. Including late entries, around 4,000 athletes ultimately took to the start line on the day of the event.
The first Harz Mountain Run was held on 14 October 1978. At that time, due to the proximity to the Federal Republic of Germany, only 300 participants were allowed to take part, even though 1,200 written entries had been received. Today, the event is a fixture in the calendars of many running and hiking enthusiasts. Katronic has been upholding this
tradition for many years and took part this time with seven participants from among its staff and friends. The Katronic events ranged from the 11 km hiking trail to the more challenging 25 km route.
Accompanied by fresh, crisp air as they made their way over rolling hills, the participants were rewarded with the autumnal colours of the Harz Mountains – a true experience of nature! At the finish line, everyone received a medal as a memento of the route they had completed and the shared experience. The 47th Harz Mountain Run 2025 was more than just a sporting event for Katronic: it was a symbol of team spirit, commitment and a love of nature.
The team is already looking forward to taking part next year and hopes to inspire even more colleagues to join in this special experience.
